This DIY Wine Cork Stamped Cherry Kitchen Towels project upcycles wine corks into stamps to make a fun cherry print design!

I can pretty much blame Betsey Johnson for my obsession with everything cherry print. So when Ashley and I decided to make the first Maker’s Mix-Up theme for April CHERRY, I knew I would have to bring my love of cherry print to the game! Having kicked out a couple wine cork projects already from corks left over from my mother’s surprise birthday party, I decided to use them as stamps this time around. It was such a fun and easy way to create cherry print on a solid color kitchen towel!
I don’t know about you, but we seem to go through dish towels like crazy and I constantly find myself washing and rotating them. They’re either damp from drying dishes, dirty from cleaning up messes, old, or just ruined from being married to a man whose hobbies are kept in the garage. When they’re at the point of no return, I’ll buy new ones.
So during a recent trip to Home Goods, I picked up a pack of pretty Nicole Miller kitchen towels. Since white is never a good option for this house, I opted for a bright and sunny yellow color. I knew they’d look darling stamped with cherry print! Totally Betsey Johnson approved!

STEPS
- Unfold your towel and decide where you want to stamp it. You may want to keep a piece of cardboard underneath the towel to catch any paint that seeps through the fabric.
- Pour out a little fabric paint and dip an end of the wine cork into the paint. Stamp paint a couple times on a scrap surface. Then, begin stamping circles on the towel.
- Once fabric paint is dry, use a green fabric marker to draw a stem and leaves on the cherry.
- Allow marker to dry, then put your new kitchen towel to use!
