Christmas shopping has officially commenced!  I have my shopping list all typed out, my budget set, and I’ve been making check marks here and there.  I have a pretty good idea of what I’m getting everyone on my list this year, but there’s always one or two people that absolutely stump me every single Christmas! 

Sure, gift cards are fun and cash is fast, but I always love putting a creative spin on gift giving.  That’s why I love NJ Lottery Holiday Scratch-Offs!  Who doesn’t love a scratch-off?  Not only are they easy to incorporate into DIY gift giving, it’s always nice to give someone a chance to win some extra holiday cash!

I am all about creative Advent calendars this year. So I thought it would be fun to make a 12 Days of Holiday Scratch-Offs Advent Calendar using the four new holiday scratch off games from NJ Lottery.  The $1 Holiday Luck, $2 Holiday Lucky Times 10, $5 Holiday Lucky Bonus, and $10 Winter Wishes scratch offs are perfect gifts to give anyone 18 or older on your list. 

My Advent calendar is as simple to make as scratching off a holiday ticket!  I took little red and green pocket envelopes, numbered them, and placed a holiday scratch off inside.  Then, I tied the envelopes together so they became a flip-style calendar.  So easy!  And such a cute and affordable way to give the gift of cash (and hopefully a lot of it) this holiday season!

SUPPLIES

• New Jersey Lottery Holiday Scratch-Offs
• 6 red pocket envelopes
• 6 green pocket envelopes
• Adhesive numbers
• Baker’s twine
• Scissors
• Optional: hole punch

STEPS

1. Number each envelope with adhesive stickers, alternating between red and green envelopes.
2. If necessary, punch a hole at the top of the envelope to string the baker’s twine.
3. Once all of the envelopes are numbered and hole punched, stick a holiday scratch-off inside.  Make sure to mix up the ticket amounts throughout the envelopes.
4. Next, stack the envelopes in order from 1-12. 
5. String the baker’s twine through all of the envelopes and tie a bow on top.
6. Give someone the 12 Days of Holiday Scratch-Offs with the chance to win big each day!

I couldn’t find the exact envelopes I had envisioned to make this project, so I ended up making my own with my Cricut Maker.  You can use any envelope that you’d like for this project.  Just make sure they’re long enough to hold the scratch-off tickets.
