Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with my family. Dad made burgers, dogs and grilled pizza and we had ice cream sundaes for dessert. I made a new furry friend. I received lots of great gifts and celebrated with the people I love.

My sisters and I took some pictures inside together, which was fun. The furball on the bottom-left is my new buddy, Harvey. My brother told me he isn’t much of a lap dog and doesn’t just sit and sleep on anyone usually. He stayed sleeping on my lap for half of the party.

I received a lot of fun gifts this year! Did you know that 31 is the birthday where you go back in time and get dolls? It was for me! My brother and sister-in-law went to Comic Con and got a Brandon Walsh doll autographed by Jason Priestley. When Mike and I got home, I took it out of the gift bag and just looked at it. Mike laughed over my shoulder and said “The things that amuse you.” He better watch it! I still need a Dylan, Brenda, Donna and Kelly doll. I might make him play 90210 with me! Ha!
I told Mike that I didn’t want anything for my birthday this year since I got the car as a wedding gift. Instead he gave me a birthday card with an air freshener in it. It’ll be kept in my car for a little while. I want to savor that new car smell for a bit! He also gave me some pens. I love when he buys me pens! Although I’m sure he does it because I’m always stealing his pens.
I received a Coach wristlet from friends of the family who are so close they might as well be family. Also included was a church pamphlet. They donated an eternity candle in our name for our wedding, which was very nice of them. Mom and dad gave me cash, which is always appreciated. I also received my new favorite t-shirt from them – a “Bazinga!” Big Bang Theory shirt. My in-laws wrote me a birthday check. My sisters got me a shirt from the Kardashian Kollection. Unfortunately it was a shirt that I already purchased for myself…and returned because I didn’t like how it looked on me. So I told them to find me another Big Bang Theory shirt instead (I love my Sheldon Cooper!).
All in all, I had a very enjoyable birthday. I appreciate the gifts I’ve received and I think 31 is going to be a good year.
