Blessed and Thankful

November 21, 2012

It’s a time for thanks and reflection. It’s a time for warm ovens and cooling racks. It’s a time to gather up the family and sit around a big table until our bellies are full.

This Thanksgiving I am entirely thankful for all of the changes that have come this year.

I am thankful to have my faith in God and I give thanks constantly for all He has blessed me with.

I am thankful for a man I get to call my best friend and my husband.  I couldn’t imagine my life without him it in it.

I am also thankful that my husband has given me the opportunity to leave the working world in order to stay home.  There aren’t many homes that can live on one income and for that I am thankful.

I am thankful for my family, my close relationship with my sisters, my kind and generous in-laws and my parents who have given me love and support throughout my entire life.

I am thankful for laughter–from loud, belly-aching, tear-streaming laughter to soft, shared chuckles.

I am thankful to have a roof over my head, a warm bed, food and all the comforts of home when so many don’t this holiday.

I am also thankful for being blessed with a big heart and the want to help others in need.

I am thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.

I am thankful for living in a country that makes me feel safe and protected and gives me freedom that doesn’t exist in other parts of the world, especially for women.

I am thankful for blogging because not only has it given me a place to write down anything and everything I’m thinking of, but it’s given me the opportunity to meet some great people.

What are you thankful for this year?

Happy Thanksgiving!
