With Christmas and New Year’s festivities out of the way, it’s now time to focus on the next holiday: Valentine’s Day. Although we only celebrate with a special dinner and some store bought sweets, I find it absolutely necessary to make the house look as festive as possible for almost every holiday.
While unpacking some of my Valentine’s Day decorations, I accidentally broke my heart wreath made out of red heart garland (I also squashed a spider that made the unfortunate mistake of crawling out of one of my decorations). Although the base was trash, I was able to save the garland and stretch it between some interior and exterior decorations. I wrapped my coffee filter wreath with some of my garland and hung it with red ribbon. It made the wreath stand out on my front door.
I made an easy centerpiece with garland tucked into a tall vase. I added some fake white flowers to it and set it in the middle of my dining room table that’s covered in a festive red tablecloth. With the garland I had left, I wrapped the railing of my front steps.
Decorating doesn’t have to cost you a lot if you find inspiration in items you have on hand. Make the most out of what you have, get inspired and enjoy each holiday!
