Date Night DIY Indoor Picnic

It’s been so much fun creating date night ideas to add some new spark to our weekends.  It doesn’t have to cost a lot to have a creative date night experience.  Take this past Saturday night: our original date night plans got canceled so I took it upon myself to plan a night in for us.  Using my date night printable as inspiration, I made us an indoor picnic.
 
I wanted my husband to be surprised by my dinner idea so I kindly kicked him out of the living room while I prepared our date night dinner.  I spread a fabric tablecloth out on the living room floor.  Dinner was so simple.  I picked up a couple of prepared subs from the grocery store and served them with a bag of potato chips and a bowl of mixed berries.  For spill proof drinks, I set out bottles of Vitamin Water.  
 
I used customized Faded Ticket address labels from Tiny Prints to add a personalized touch to our date night sandwiches.  Aren’t they cute?  My final touch was a floral arrangement from our wedding reception.  My original plan was to have an after dinner game of Scrabble, but we traded that for Goodfellas and a hockey game.  Adding a board game to your indoor picnic is a fun idea to keep the date night going with a little friendly competition and a lot of laughter.
 

Supplies for Personalized Sandwich Toothpicks

• Toothpicks
• Personalized addressed labels from Tiny Prints

Using two labels, carefully begin to stick labels together.  Just before labels are completely sealed, stick a toothpick inside and close.  Stick in sandwiches.
