Date Night Prep: Anytime Essentials

Over the weekend, we both came down with a cold.  My husband had a sore throat and a runny nose.  I had aches and pains and a ton of congestion. So needless to say, our weekend was spent on the couch, under a blanket, sipping lots of tea, and blowing our noses.  I love this time of year when there’s a chill in the air and I start getting anxious for the holidays.  But all of that excitement comes to a halt when I think about crowds in stores and all of the germs floating around.  It’s so easy to get sick.

I work from home and my husband works outside most of the day.  Between blog work, promoting, running errands, and taking care of the house and our puppy, I’m usually exhausted by dinnertime.  My husband works a tough job and a long day, so he’s usually beat by the time he gets home.  With the sun going down earlier, it doesn’t help. Neither does getting sick.  Lately, it seems like there isn’t much time for date night or just a little time alone (the last time we actually went out was earlier last month for a wedding!).

While I definitely enjoy the happy playtime we get in with our puppy, I love those little moments I get to hang out with my husband – just me and him. Around here, date nights don’t need to be extravagant.  I enjoy hanging out with my husband while he works in the garage, sitting together by the fire at night, or just going for a walk to the store.  But whether or not we’re going out or staying in, there’s one thing I know for sure – I always want to feel my best when we get to spend some one-on-one time together.  So here’s a few tips on how to feel your best before date night (or any night)!

ESSENTIAL ESSENTIALS

The minute my husband started sniffling and coughing, I knew I’d probably be next.  I picked up some Emergen-C so we could have more healthy days and more healthy nights!  There are 20 varieties to choose from, but I love the fizzy Super Orange flavor!  Emergen-C is full of essential vitamins and antioxidants that will keep you date night ready all through cold season!

MINT TO BE

We both practice a morning routine of eating breakfast and taking our vitamins.  I don’t always remember to take my vitamins in the morning, which is why I like keeping Centrum VitaMints on hand.  They’re a vitamin that can be chewed like a mint!  Their cool mint flavor will also ensure that you’re fresh and kissable for date night!

And because I seem to come down with more headaches than I wish with the fluctuating temperatures and weather changes this time of year, I always keep a bottle of Advil Liqui-Gels around.  The advanced liquid fast relief ensures I can still enjoy that special one-on-one time with my husband.  As always, use as directed.

HELLO HYDRATION

I’m serious about lip care!  I keep a lip balm or ChapStick in every room of my house, one in the car, and one or two in my purse.  So when I came across ChapStick Total Hydration, I knew I had to buy a tube (or two)!  It’s 100% natural and made with an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils.  The coconut flavor will take you back to hot Summer nights!  Your lips will thank you, especially this dry time of year!

When it comes to date night, you’ll not only want to look your best, but feel your best, too.  So make sure you keep some of these date night essentials on hand!  And if you need to get ready in a pinch, play up your eyes with eyeliner and mascara, and brush on some highlighter powder for an all over glow!  Don’t forget a killer pair of shoes and a great bag, too!
