Arouse His Senses this Valentine’s Day with Demeter Fragrances

February 2, 2018

Arouse your partner’s senses this Valentine’s Day with Demeter Fragrances! Visit the Demeter Valentine Shop to set the mood for Valentine’s Day evening with warm and romantic scents for the home and body.

Thank you to Demeter Fragrance Library for sending me fragrance samples in exchange for this post. No other compensation has been received. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

Let’s talk about scents, baby!  When my husband and I first started dating, I remember one thing – he really loved one of the perfumes I would wear from a popular lingerie company.  He made a sexy remark about it one night while we were heading out.  It was something along the lines of not getting where we were going because I smelled so good.  That was it for me!  I began to wear that fragrance every single time I saw him because I knew he loved it that much!

These days, I’ve been switching up my fragrance choices.  My collection of Demeter fragrances has grown so much after the past year that I base my fragrances by how I feel that day.  But did you know that Demeter fragrances go beyond perfume?  This Valentine’s Day, don’t just tantilize his senses with the perfume you’re wearing.  Set the tone of the evening with Demeter’s home fragrances and more!

Like I’ve said before, I’ve been a longtime fan of Demeter’s fragrances. However, I just recently discovered that many of their scents are available as home fragrances, as well.  So I was really excited when Demeter sent me a few of their diffuser oils!

Now, you can smell any of your favorite Demeter scents anytime you want!  Just unscrew the top off of the diffuser oil and place the bamboo reeds inside of the bottle.  The diffuser oil will penetrate the reeds and disperse scent into a room for about 2-4 months.

I knew my husband would love the diffuser oils I was sent.  He’s got a big sweet tooth and loves coming home to smell of something baking!  The first diffuser oil I opened was Angel Food.  This diffuser oil smells like sugar, vanilla, and a hint of coconut mixed into a cake batter that’s been whipped into submission.  It’s a sweet, light, and fluffy scent.  Just like you would expect an angel food cake to be!

If you want to set the mood with something a bit richer, Devil’s Food is sinfully good!  It smells like Demeter shoved a piece of dark, chocolaty cake into a bottle.  For real!  I usually hold off on chocolate scents because a lot of them smell so artificial. So far, Demeter has been the only fragrance company to make chocolate smell like chocolate.  Just saying – you might want to have a box of Devil’s Food cake mix on hand after trying this scent.  You won’t just want a piece of cake.  You’ll need it!

I was afraid that Cinnamon Bun would be overpoweringly spicy and smell like straight up cinnamon.  It doesn’t.  Cinnamon Bun is a perfect blend of warm cinnamon and sugar.  Demeter somehow managed to bottle up the scent of that sweet cinnamon bun icing, as well!  This scent smells like Sunday morning and homemade cinnamon buns in the oven!

If you’re planning a naughty Valentine’s Day evening, you might want to spritz yourself with one of the scents from Demeter’s Naughty Trio.  It’s one of their value sets and perfect for heating things up on Valentine’s Day!

I was really intrigued to try Riding Crop.  I feared that it would be overly masculine and basically smell like a leather boot. Like most unexpected romances, I fell in love with this scent.  It is masculine and smells like leather straight out of the bottle.  But it dries down into a pretty incredible scent.  It’s sexy, it’s spicy, and has a slight woodsy smell to it that’s sure to drive you both wild!

Sex on the Beach – while I haven’t tried the cocktail or the actual act – is quite the delicious scent. I have nothing to compare it to, but it does whisk me away someplace tropical!  Sex on the Beach smells like peach and pineapple with a splash of other fruity fragrances.  It’s summer in a bottle with a sultry little name.

My first impression of Dark Chocolate was YUM! Again, there’s nothing artificial about this chocolate scent.  It’s a tad sweeter than dark chocolate, but smells good enough to eat!  By the way, dark chocolate is an aphrodisiac.  Just thought you should know!

Another thing that I love about Demeter is that so many of their scents blend well together.  Plus, their scents are available in .17 FL OZ sample sizes.  It’s a great way to discover scents without committing to a full size bottle.  Demeter is selling a limited edition Sexy Foolproof Blending Sampler Pack for Valentine’s Day.  There are eight scents in the set that are all great on their own and so much fun to blend!

Pumpkin Pie: I introduced Pumpkin Pie to you when I showed you How to Smell Like a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  It’s an amazing scent for pumpkin lovers!  According to the scent description, “the smell of Pumpkin Pie increases the arousal level in men by 40%.”  Now we see why this scent was included in this set!

Hawaiian Vanilla:  This is a great scent for blending!  It’s a light and sweet vanilla fragrance.  Blend it with Riding Crop to tone down the scent.  When it’s blended with Dark Chocolate, it smells like a Tootsie Roll!  It’s also great for toning down floral scents (see next fragrance).

Freesia: Let me just say it – I do not like floral scents.  They tend to give me a headache.  Freesia isn’t bad though!  It’s light, fresh, and feminine.  To me, it smells more like a clean scent than a floral scent.

Musk #7: I was SO excited when I smelled this scent!  It smells just like a fragrance oil I used to wear in high school!  It’s a nostalgic blend of patchouli, bergamot, and an earthy, herbal scent.  This scent will make you feel like a goddess!  I will be ordering a full size bottle eventually!

Amber: Amber is another great, earthy scent.  It’s a warm embrace that’s spicy, yet sweet like honey.  Oh, and it just happens to be an aphrodisiac, too.  This is another scent that blends really well with Riding Crop!

Cherry Blossom: In the early 2000’s, I was obsessed with cherry blossoms.  I used to draw them all over the place and wanted a cherry blossom tattoo at one point.  So this is another nostalgic scent for me.  It’s a fruity floral thanks to a hint of cherry.

Patchouli: My inner hippie was so excited about these next two scents.  I mean, I grew patchouli in my garden last summer just so I could go outside and smell it!  This scent not only reminds me of my garden and how I used to rub the leaves to get to the scented oil.  And – ahem – it’s another aphrodisiac.

Incense: I have to admit that I was a little bummed that this doesn’t smell like Nag Champa.  Despite that, it’s still a nice scent.  I find it to be a little sweeter than smokier with almost a vanilla quality to it.  It’s a hard one to describe, but will blend well with a lot of earthy scents.

I’m also new to Demeter’s Massage & Body Oils.  While I haven’t had to chance to get my personal masseur to give me a massage, I am intrigued in trying these as an after-shower body oil.  We already know that Hawaiian Vanilla and Dark Chocolate smell great, but Chocolate Covered Cherries might be one of my new favorite scents!  It’s Valentine’s Day in a bottle and smells like sweet, dark cherries dipped in chocolate.
