Kids and adult alike will love this Dirt and Worm Chocolate Pudding! It’s a fun Halloween treat made with layers of chocolate pudding, chocolate cookies, and gummy worms!

The last time I attended a Halloween party, I was in college. The student lounge was turned into a dance area and we all dressed in costume. Well, most of us did.
That year, I dressed up as Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. During the day, I was Mia before the overdose (because I also worked part-time at the front desk of admissions). For the party, I decided to add some fake blood to become a bloody-nosed Mia after the injection.
I miss going to Halloween parties, but at least I still get to enjoy the spooky food. Take, this dirt and worm pudding, for instance. Totally delicious, but kind of gross looking. Right? It’s a dessert that’s sure to creep out your party guests!
If you’re planning to throw a Halloween bash this year, consider making this easy party treat that your ghoulish guests will just die for! All you need to make it is a box of instant chocolate pudding, chocolate cookies, and some gummy worms.
Dirt and Worm Chocolate Pudding
This popular Halloween treat is usually made with an Oreo cookie crumble. But I used chocolate animal crackers. I found that the color and texture was much more dirt-like and still really tasty!
The first thing we need to do is make the pudding according to package. Make sure to use instant pudding. That way, the pudding will be ready in just minutes!
Add about 2 cups of the chocolate animal crackers to a food processor or blender. Pulse until the cookies resemble the texture of dry, rocky dirt. You don’t want it to be totally smooth.
Now, grab a few cups or glasses and start layering. Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding to the bottom of the glass. Then, add the cookie crumbles. Repeat until you’ve reached the top (or close to the top).
The final touch is adding gummy worms. I also added some small plastic bones for decoration. Serve immediately or allow the pudding to chill in the fridge before serving.
- 1 - 3.9 oz. box instant chocolate pudding
- 2 cups chocolate animal crackers, or Oreos
- Gummy worms
- Prepare pudding according to package and chill in fridge while preparing other ingredients.
- In a food processor or blender, add chocolate cookies and pulse until coarse crumbs remain.
- Spoon a layer of pudding into the bottom of a cup or glass.
- Follow with a layer of cookie crumbs.
- Repeat until you reach the top of the glass.
- Top with gummy worms and serve immediately, or chill in fridge before serving.
This is a classic Halloween treat that’s so easy to make and even more fun to eat! I mean, who wouldn’t love layers of chocolate with a few gummies thrown on top?!
