I once asked my husband, “What is it about guys and the grill?” His response was basically that he just liked being outside cooking. With Father’s Day and my husband’s birthday just around the corner, I decided to create a gift that would be perfect for any grill master!
We all know that everything tastes better on the grill and grilling has become a weekly tradition in our house. Now that the weather’s getting warmer, you’ll find us grilling pizza on Friday nights and making ribs on the grill almost every weekend!
I can tell you that pizza night alone calls for a grilling kit! There’s always so much to bring out! That’s why I decided to pack my DIY grilling kit in a sturdy wooden caddy. And if your dad’s a beer drinker, this caddy has a convenient bottle opener on the side!
The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating the perfect DIY grilling kit for dad. Add some of his favorite barbecue and hot sauces. Has he been talking about trying some new beer? Grab a few bottles to add to the kit! I added a beer can glass, tongs, gingham napkins, and some homemade rubs (keep reading for the recipes)!
Things to include in your DIY grilling kit:
- Six Pack Toolbox
- Beer Can Glass
- Beer bottles
- Tongs
- Napkins
- Hot sauce
- Barbecue sauce
- Various rubs and seasonings
- Gift card
I made a few different spice rubs to include in this kit. They were poured into small glass bottles and labeled. Then, I added them to small kraft paper bags. These measurements are based on the small bottles that I used. The spices and measurements can be adjusted, as needed.
