We’re in the heat of summer and the last thing that I want to do is turn on the oven and warm up the house. But recently, I got a major craving for chocolate chip cookies. Not just any chocolate chip cookies. I wanted big, chewy, soft cookies with mini chocolate chips. So I sucked it up and preheated the oven to make a dozen chewy and delicious chocolate chip cookies. It was definitely worth heating up the house!
We’ve all been told that it’s bad to eat raw cookie dough, but I can’t help myself. I’ve scraped the side of the bowl with a rubber spatula and spooned all of my cookies onto baking sheets. With every batch of chocolate chip cookies that I make, I seem to have the same routine. Before I put the bowl into the sink, I go to spoon a little of the leftover cookie dough into my mouth. Then, before it reaches me, I toss the spoon into the bowl and walk away.
So you can understand my delight when eggless, edible cookie dough became a big trend this year! An entire shop devoted to cookie dough opened up in New York, just a short train ride away from me. I have yet to make it there and try one of their tempting creations. Instead, I’ve managed to master an edible cookie dough recipe right at home. It’s eggless, safe to eat, and has a cookie surprise in it!
Our house is usually stocked with a few boxes of cereal at a time. The funny thing is, my husband is the only one who eats it for breakfast. Almost every single morning he pours himself a bowl before he goes to work. I love eating cereal outside of breakfast. Cereal is a great snack! I much prefer it eaten without milk when I’m in the mood for something sweet.
Because there’s so much cereal eaten in this house, I usually buy big boxes or bags of it when I’m in Walmart. Have you seen the newest POST cereal flavors? S’mores are a must in the summertime, so I couldn’t pass up the Shredded Wheat Frosted S’mores Bites.
The Malt-O-Meal Chocolatey Chip Cookie Bites were definitely a must-have! Hello, chocolate chip cookies! I mean, milk and cookies are a perfect match, so this is a perfect way to put a little more cookie in your day! It was also a great addition to my edible chocolate chip cookie dough!
