For the past couple of years, I have attended Girls Night Out in Downtown Westfield. The event brings women of all ages, from all over the community together for an evening of dining, drinks and discounts. Upon checking in, guests receive a welcoming gift. This year’s gift came from the new store opening South Moon Under. The first 1000 guests received knotted post earrings and a 20% off coupon to use in the store.

One of our first stops is always Jeffrey’s of Westfield where they offer half-price appetizers and $5 drinks for the event. We ordered the most delicious Pumpkin Pie Martinis (seriously like pumpkin pie in a glass) and shared a bunch of appetizers that left us comfortably satisfied.

Orders of buffalo chicken empanadas, chicken fingers and tempura shrimp were split while dining outside in the cool, fall air. After eating, it was time to shop! Visits were paid to South Moon Under, The Farmhouse Store (a favorite with home furnishings and unique home decor and gifts you won’t find anywhere else), Francesca’s, Savory Spice Shop and Carlo’s Bake Shop.

I’ve written about Carlo’s Bakery in the past and admitted that I wasn’t overly excited by the franchise’s baked goods. That was until I took home a butter crumb danish and apple turnover this trip. Devoured! There’s reason there was only one danish left in the case! I hope they have them again on my next trip! Other purchases from the evening included earrings from Francesca’s, Brown Sugar Honey Rub from Savory Spice Shop (it was used on popcorn in the shop and was an absolute delicious combo of sweet and spicy) and an adorable vinyl witch sticker from Charlie Thyme that I added right away to one of my pumpkins.
The Girls Night Out event has definitely gained popularity within the past year. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the event so crowded! It’s a great night out that helps support local businesses, big and small. I look forward to next spring’s Girls Night Out event.
