A few years ago, I attended afternoon tea at a local tea house where we were served a sampling of tea sandwiches and sweets. Today’s recipe post has been inspired by afternoon tea parties and the light, fresh flavors of spring. Head to Walmart to find all of the ingredients needed to make these easy and delicious Ham and Cucumber Tea Sandwiches. They’re perfect for a spring afternoon tea party with friends or when you’re craving a quick, light lunch at home.

My eating habits tend to change with the seasons. With springtime almost here, I’m starting to fill my plate with lighter ingredients and lots of fresh flavors. This time of year, spring fever tends to hit me hard! I look forward to planting in my garden, taking longer walks, visiting farmer’s markets, and using any chance I get to be outside in the warm weather and sunshine!

I’d rather not waste any time deciding what to have for lunch when I’m itching to get outside. That’s why I like to stock up on sandwich makings. Sandwiches are a quick and nutritious way to feed the family with minimal ingredients. Just like this sandwich! It’s made with only six ingredients!

First, you need to start with a good loaf of bread.  We are obsessed with Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse™ Oatmeal Bread!  Pepperidge Farm breads are slow baked in small batches and made with wholesome ingredients.  We love how soft each loaf is made!

We always seem to favor ham sandwiches.  Hillshire Farm® Thin Sliced Honey Ham makes a great sandwich! It’s slow roasted to perfection. Hillshire® Ham contains no artificial flavors or by-products.  That’s why it tastes so good!  This Honey Ham has a touch of sweetness to it that makes springtime sandwiches all the more delicious!

Once you assemble your sandwich, you’re going to need a good spread.  Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise is a staple in our home.  It’s made with simple ingredients like eggs, oil and vinegar.  Having it in a squeeze bottle allows us to use the perfect amount each time!

Since I wanted to embrace the flavors of springtime, I added some fresh ingredients to my sandwich.  Avocado adds another creamy component to this sandwich.  Sliced cucumber gives this sandwich some earthy flavor and crunch.
