The holidays are over and I definitely indulged a bit too much in all of that Christmas goodness! With the New Year on the horizon, it’s time to get my eating habits back in check and make healthier decisions. I started this year with a goal, not to diet, but to keep up with a healthier lifestyle. At the beginning of the year, I did really well. So well that I felt better, made better food choices (and liked it!), and ended up losing 20 pounds! Unfortunately, as the year went on, I slacked off. Now, it’s time to make a promise to myself again to create a healthier lifestyle for myself.
Since I have a little Christmas money to play with, I’m definitely going to invest in an Instant Pot. We need another kitchen gadget like a hole in the head, but an Instant Pot’s been on my list for a long time! It’s long overdue and I really want to see what all of the fuss is about! Between an Instant Pot, our new air fryer, and the other gadgets we have in our kitchen already, I have NO EXCUSE to get my eating habits back on track!
Instant Pot
There are so many things to love about the Instant Pot! Besides the fact that it makes cooking super easy, you can make so many recipes in it! I can’t wait to get an Instant Pot so I can try making hard-boiled eggs and my own yogurt in it!
Shop here: Instant Pot, $99.95
Dehydrator
I finally got our dehydrator this past year and it’s one of my most used kitchen gadgets! I love stocking up on fruits and veggies to dehydrate at the farmer’s market. I love dehydrating mushrooms for soups and stir-fries. Dried mango with lime and cayenne pepper has become my favorite healthy snack! Dried fruit is so much better in the dehydrator because it’s not loaded with sugar like packaged mixes. I’ve even made vegan eggplant jerky in the dehydrator!
Shop here: Hamilton Beach Food Dehydrator, $55.11
Air Fryer
When my husband suggested that we get an air fryer, I asked him, “What do we need that for?” He said, “So we can make crispy french fries.” Well, after a lot of back and forth over it, we finally got an air fryer and I have to say, it’s pretty awesome! We’ve gone beyond french fries and made chicken wings, onion rings, and “fried” shrimp in it. If you have to have your greasy, fried food fix, this is definitely a better way to go about it!
Shop here: BLACK + DECKER Air Fryer, $74.99
Spiralizer
If you don’t have a spiralizer by now, you’re seriously missing out! I love my spiralizer! Of course, it’s great for making zoodle recipes, like my Vegan Greek Zoodle Salad, but it’s also great for making “noodles” out of other veggies like beets, cucumbers, or sweet potatoes.
Shop here: Spiralizer, $21.99
Food Storage Containers
I’ve talked about the Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers in my Chicken Cacciatore with Quinoa post. I’m basically obsessed with them at this point! They’re leak-proof, don’t stain, and keep food fresh! They’re also stackable, so they’ll keep the inside of your fridge neat and tidy! Their clear design makes it easy to spot what you need, too! They’re perfect for keeping healthy ingredients on hand!
Shop here: Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers, $24.99
Hamilton Beach Indoor Searing Grill
This is another gadget I’ve talked about before. I made a Grilled Shrimp Bruschetta Pizza on this grill that was cooked to perfection! This grill is perfect for cooking chicken or veggies for meal prepping!
Shop here: Hamilton Beach Indoor Searing Grill, $59.99
Oster Personal Blender
I don’t know about you, but smoothies immediately go on my list when I’m trying to eat healthier. You can add so many fruits and veggies to smoothies. It’s a great way to eat fresh and stay healthy! The Oster MyBlend Pro Series Personal Blender is perfect for whipping up a smoothie to take on-the-go! Try my Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie in this blender!
Shop here: Oster MyBlend Pro Series Personal Blender, $24.49
Salad spinner
There’s nothing better than a big salad full of different kinds of chopped veggies and a lean protein. I even like to add nuts and dried cranberries into my salads. The salad combinations are basically endless! So while you’re adding healthy salads back into your weekly menu, you’ll need a salad spinner to make sure your greens will be cleaned and dried in one easy step!
Shop here: OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner, $25.49
Measuring cups
Eating healthy means a lot of portion control. When I was adamant about logging my meals, I weighed and measured everything. A pretty, new set of measuring cups might inspire you to keep those portions under control!
Shop here: Copper Stainless Steel Measuring Cups, $13.99
Food scale
When I’m trying to get my eating habits back on track, I like to use apps like MyFitnessPal. I can connect with friends and family to keep me accountable, keep track of my activity and exercise during the day, and track all of my meals and snacks. In order to make exact meal entries, I like to use a food scale to weigh my portions.
Shop here: Ozeri Pronto Digital Food Scale, $10.41
The Instant Pot might not be the only thing being delivered to my door soon! Which gadgets will you be adding to your kitchen?
