Dogs Travel in Style with Molly Mutt Car Seat Covers

December 6, 2017

I have received product from Molly Mutt in exchange for this post.  All opinions stated within this post are my own.

The busy holiday travel season is upon us!  If you’re bringing your pet along to holiday gatherings, keeping them safe and comfortable during long car rides is so important!

When we first got Hunter, I looked up pet travel safety laws here in New Jersey.  I knew I’d want to take him places and that he would be in the car with me a lot.  In Jersey, all pets must be restrained while riding in the car.  Not following this law can result in a pretty hefty fine! So we got Hunter a crate to stay in while riding in the car. Over time, the crate got to be a little too bulky for the backseat.  And because Hunter still wasn’t exactly restrained, even though he was in a crate, we got a car harness for him instead.

Hunter does really well with the harness on.  He’s still able to reposition himself, look out the window, and comfortably lay down on the backseat.  Even though I got Hunter squared away, I still didn’t have any protection for my seats.  That’s why I’m thankful for our new Molly Mutt car seat cover!  Not only does it protect my seats, but it’s so stylish, too!

Choosing your car seat cover and installing it

Molly Mutt car seat covers come in eight different patterns. I ordered the “Rough Gem” pattern. It’s a navy blue and white geometric pattern that looks great in my backseat! The car seat cover was easy to slip over my seat.  First, I looped the car seat cover over my backseat’s headrests and smoothed it out.

Next, I tucked in the seat anchors to keep the car seat cover in place. Then, I adjusted the seatbelt slots and the seatbelt straps.  The great thing about the Molly Mutt car seat cover is that as long as you have a headrest, it will fit your car!

You can adjust the straps that loop over the headrest to give the car seat cover a proper fit.  The car seat cover has a non-skid backing to ensure it won’t slip off the seat.  The seat anchors also help to keep the cover in place.

Keeping your pet safe and comfortable while traveling

There are also a few ways you can use this car seat cover. You can simply drape it over your seat, use it as a cargo cover, or use it as a hammock.  I love the hammock feature!  It allows Hunter to lounge in the backseat while protecting him from slipping onto the floor.  I mean, wouldn’t you love to hang out in the backseat all by yourself like that?

I also like to make sure we’re prepared for car rides with waste bags, travel treats, a travel water bowl, a bottle of water, and a toy, like a ball, too.  Not only is it important to keep your pet comfy while traveling in the car, but when they’re visiting family, as well.

Every single one of Molly Mutt’s products are 100% washable.  So if your dog had a little too much fun during the holidays and left your backseat a muddy mess, you can easily wash it off and throw it back onto the backseat again!

Our pets are precious cargo.  This holiday season, let them travel safely and comfortably in style with a Molly Mutt car seat cover!  They make great holiday gifts for pet lovers, too!

I love this product. I’ve been telling my parents for years they need something just like this to make cleaning the car easier.

Yes! It’s such a lifesaver for the back seat! Especially since Hunter likes to track dirt, grass, and sand into the car during our travels.

I love your adorable dog. The seat cover is something I could really use. The last time I took my two dogs to the dog park my back seat was filthy!

Thanks so much! One dog gets the car filthy enough! This would definitely be a help with two!

[…] Hunter’s been a lot better about being in the car.  If I have to run short errands, I take him with me now.  He doesn’t mind being in the car and has started to get excited if I ask him if he wants to go for a car ride. […]
