Mother’s Day is this weekend. Are you preparing to spoil your mom with lots of love and pampering? My siblings and I usually treat our mom to a homemade dinner and dessert for Mother’s Day.
We get together at Mom and Dad’s house and everyone pitches in on the cooking and the clean up. Mom gets a nice, home cooked meal and a day to just relax and spend time with her kids.
Then, my mom and I usually plan a day to go flower shopping at a large garden center as her Mother’s Day gift.
Since we go flower shopping every year for Mother’s Day, I wanted to create a charcuterie board with a floral theme – an adorable addition to our Mother’s Day spread! Like every good charcuterie board, this board includes a variety of flavors and textures.
I used a mix of hard and soft cheeses. Then, I added dried fruits and nuts, olives, prosciutto, and flatbread crackers. What really pulls this Mother’s Day board all together are the roses made out of salami and pepperoni!
Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board
This Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board is a delicious way to spoil your mom on Mother’s Day! Arrange a variety of cheeses, nuts, and dried fruits (like dried apricots, dates, and cranberries) on a serving board and add some trendy meat roses. Then, serve with crispy flatbread crackers (and maybe even a bottle of Mom’s favorite wine)!
The first thing I did was kind of plan the board out in my head. I added the cheese to the board – some sliced and some served as is. If your mom has a favorite type of cheese (like the Sartori Merlot Wedge), make sure you add it to the board!
Next, I made the meat roses out of salami and pepperoni. If you want to make a variety of sizes, make the roses using different size glasses. I used a champagne glass to make the smaller roses and a standard wine glass to make the larger ones.
All you have to do to make a meat rose is fold the slices around the rim of the glass, overlapping them until you pretty much have the inside of the glass filled. Then, flip the glass over and you’ll have a rose!
With the meat roses in place, I put the rest of the board together. I added the nuts, dried fruits, and a small bowl of olives. Then, I added the flatbread crackers to the board.
And that’s it! An easy and impressive charcuterie board made with a cute floral theme for Mother’s Day!
- Salami slices
- Pepperoni slices
- Sartori Merlot cheese wedge
- Brie wedge
- Goat cheese
- Dried cranberries
- Dried apricots
- Flatbread crackers
- Begin by folding slices of salami or pepperoni around the rim of a champagne or wine glass.
- Continue to overlap the slices, bringing each slice a little closer together between each layer, and pressing them together so the slices stick.
- When the layers are thick enough, flip the glass over onto the board, and carefully remove the rose.
- Repeat until you've made your desired amount of roses.
- Add the cheeses to the board. Slice the hard cheeses and leave the soft cheeses whole.
- Arrange the meat roses around the board.
- Then, add the the nuts, dried fruits, and olives.
- Finally, add the flatbread crackers to the board.
- Serve immediately.
If you’ll be visiting your mom for a Mother’s Day celebration, this Mother’s Day charcuterie board will make an easy and impressive addition to your gathering!
