I believe that everything happens for a reason and eventually everything falls into place. It’s no wonder that I felt getting laid off from my job was a positive thing. Last night Mike and I decided that we are going to apply for our marriage license next week. We’ve been together 4 years, engaged for 4 months–it’s time we get rolling. I’m entirely ready to start a life and a family with this man–my mister, my man–as his Mrs.
With this new development came new after party plans. We were originally going to have a backyard reception at his sister’s house, but she lives an hour and a half away. For some family members, it would be a longer travel. So we asked my parents last night and they agreed to let us use their backyard as a reception area. I’ve been in party planning mode since.
I know it’s going to sound like a prom theme, but I’m thinking of an “enchanted evening” reception. I’m thinking more of a garden party setting than a wedding reception. Very earthy, very natural, very ethereal and a little country. I’m thinking florals and vines, mason jars and candles, fairy lights and canopies. Our colors will be lemon and lavender. While planning my little heart out today, I was reminded of light up globes my mother and I saw in Walmart over the weekend. I went there over lunch and picked up eight for my parents’ pool.
We may not have a date yet, but it’s official–I’m planning a wedding.
