I put newspaper down on the dining room table and cleaned the surface of my pumpkin. My husband walked in on my pumpkin carving prep and asked, “What were you planning on using to cut open your pumpkin?” I said, “A knife,” like duh! Since I’m apparently not to be trusted with sharp objects, he went out in the garage and got me a power tool instead! He let me use his Dremel with some fancy little bit in it and I went to work. By the time I was finished cutting the top, scooping out guts and seeds, cleaning the inside and carving the outside, I was a hot orange mess along with half of my dining room! But it was so much fun and so worth the pumpkin facial!
My seeds are drying in the oven right now and I’m not yet sure what I want to do with them. My pumpkin is sitting pretty on the front steps. I didn’t have stencils to do any spooky scenes or faces so I free-handed a little homage to “The Big Bang Theory.” I had so much fun with this pumpkin that I want to do another! I can see hubby clinging to his pumpkin now with fear that it might turn into a Sheldon Cooper face!
