It might be August, but it’s definitely not too late to dive into summer fun! A few weeks ago, the family got together at my parents’ house for my niece’s 2nd birthday. It was a hot, sunny day and we eventually decided to bring the party to the pool. Even the dogs came in to cool off (that’s my brother’s dog, Harvey, chilling on the pool float below)! Before that weekend, I couldn’t tell you the last time that I went swimming! It was so refreshing to get back into the water!
Knowing that we would all end up in the pool, I brought over some new floats for everyone to enjoy. Bright, colorful, oversized pool floats have become all the rage the past couple of years! They’re perfect for pool parties and – let’s face it – capturing a great Instagram moment! Oriental Trading has such a large selection of pool party essentials to choose from! I was able to get everything from floats, to pool noodles, to floating coasters, and even an inflatable game!
FLOATS & POOL NOODLES
Inflatable Floating Flamingo Coasters
We spent the morning blowing up floats and putting them in the pool in time for my niece’s party. My older niece had a fun time helping us blow up the smaller flamingo coaster floats. We found that they worked better when you drank some of your drink first. Otherwise, they started to topple over from the weight of our cans. They were still an adorable addition to the pool!
Giant Pineapple Float
The giant pineapple float just screams “summertime” and has a large surface to lay on. It would make a fun, tropical addition to any pool party! Throwing an end-of-summer luau? You need this float for your pool!
Giant Pizza Pool Float
If you haven’t noticed already, my family really, really loves pizza. So the pizza slice float was an absolute must-have! Especially since most of our family parties turn into pizza parties! You can even dry off with a big pizza towel when you’re done floating around on your pizza float!
Emoji Pool Noodles
Pool noodles are always fun to have and especially when they have emojis on them! The emoji pool noodles were another hit with the kids! The adults in the pool had a good time with them, too. I was floating around on a couple myself!

Inflatable Shoot N’ Score Game
Who loves skee ball? I do! I do! The classic boardwalk arcade game got a poolside makeover with this fun inflatable! I haven’t had the chance to play with this yet, but it definitely looks like lots of fun! Just another reason to get back in the pool before summer ends!
Inflatable Enormous Volleyball
This giant volleyball was a hit! You can see just how big it is next to my sister in the picture below. I was out of the pool and all dried off when the game of pool volleyball was going on. It looked like my brother, my sisters, and my sisters’ boyfriends had a great time with it!
As you can probably tell, we all had a great time in the pool with these new floats and games! You can currently grab some great deals on pool floats and noodles at Oriental Trading! Just about everything is on sale! It’s apparently going to be a hotter-than-usual Fall this year, so extend the pool party and stock up! Don’t forget the beach towels!

I’ve been wanting to throw a back-to-school party for my daughter and her friends and I think it’d be good to prepare a little. I think things like a giant volleyball could be a great idea given that they all have a competitive nature to them. A ball like this coupled with a pool net could be a very fun activity that would make the party a lot more fun. Thanks for the post!
