If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you know that Halloween is absolutely one of my favorite times out of the year. And while I like to create all levels of spookiness with my content, I think I have the most fun creating creepy recipes!
Like look at these prosciutto and mozzarella “fingers!” They would make a perfectly creepy appetizer to serve alone, with crackers, or on a char-boo-terie board! They’re so simple to put together, too. All you need is a package of mozzarella string cheese, sliced prosciutto, and some almonds.
All of the ingredients used to make this recipe came from Hungryroot. They have all kinds of seasonal goodies available right now, plus a ton of quality grocery items to shop from. Not having to leave the house to get those fall goodies is a definite plus!
Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Fingers
So if you’re looking for a super easy, pretty creepy, and totally yummy appetizer or snack to serve for Halloween, make these “fingers” in a just a few simple steps. Unwrap the mozzarella string cheese, wrap them in prosciutto, use an almond to create a fingernail, and that’s it!
Start this recipe by unwrapping the string cheese. This will probably be the hardest part of the recipe, to be honest. Then, take a slice of prosciutto and wrap it around each string cheese.
We’re almost done! Now, we’re going to cut a small slit towards the top of the mozzarella. Now, we’re going to take an almond (whole or sliced) and push it into the slit to create a fingernail.
All that’s left to do is serve this frighteningly good Halloween dish! If you’re not planning on serving these right away, store them in the fridge.
- Mozzarella string cheese, unwrapped
- Prosciutto slices
- Almonds, whole or sliced
- Take a slice of prosciutto and wrap it around mozzarella string cheese.
- Cut a slit towards the top of the mozzarella and push an almond into the slit.
- Repeat with the rest of the string cheese and serve.
If you have a nut allergy, consider using a halved olive in place of the almond to create the fingernail. I did just that when I made these Crispy Chicken Halloween Witch Fingers!
