Celebrate Scents of the Season with Demeter Fragrances

November 20, 2017

Thank you to Demeter Fragrance Library for sending me fragrance samples from their collection to celebrate the scents of the season. No other compensation has been received. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

The holiday season evokes so many special memories!  Often, my favorite memories are triggered by warm and familiar scents of the season.  They are scents that immediately pull me into the holiday season and make me remember past Christmases. If I had to describe the smell of Christmas morning, it’s like cold air mixed with coffee being brewed and bacon in the skillet.  It’s followed by the scent of baked goods and hot dishes being made to take to our holiday celebrations.

As you step outside during Christmastime, you might smell fresh pine needles in the snow.  As you get ready for holiday festivities, you might be delighted by the scent of homemade Christmas sweets wrapped up in peppermint.  And if you’re lucky enough to visit New York City during the holidays, you might be hit with the scent of spice, warmth, and candied nuts roasting on the street corner.

It’s such a magical time of year full of scents that bring up such good memories.  That’s why I’m partnering with Demeter Fragrance Library again to share some truly magical holiday fragrances from their collection.  Now, you can smell like the holidays all day and all year long!

Christmas Bouquet

I wanted to talk about Christmas Bouquet first because it’s the scent that I was most surprised about.  I am not a fan of floral scents.  AT ALL.  Thankfully, this fragrance doesn’t smell like a big bouquet of overpowering flowers.  It’s more of a light, sweet, and creamy scent with a hint of spice at the end.  It’s pleasant and perfect for layering!

Christmas Tree

As a longtime fan of Demeter’s fragrances, I’ve tried lots of their scents over the years.  Christmas Tree was one of the first scents I’ve ever tried.  It’s spot on!  If you’re like me and put up an artificial tree every year, you’ll appreciate this scent because it smells like the real thing!  It’s like fresh cut pine and crisp winter air.

Candy Cane Truffle

This was another scent that pleasantly surprised me.  I’m not a big fan of chocolate scents, but I didn’t find this chocolate fragrance to be artificial or overpowering.  Candy Cane Truffle is a light, sweet scent of chocolate kissed with peppermint candy canes.  Honestly, I’ve been wearing this fragrance a lot.  It’s quickly become a new favorite and I love layering it with Christmas Bouquet!

Christmas in New York

I’m just a short train ride away from the city and there’s no better time to visit than Christmastime.  There’s the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, the ice skating rink and tree at Rockefeller Center, and the store windows dressed in their holiday best.  Christmas in New York is a cozy scent that reminds me of the carts of nuts roasting on the street corner.  It’s warm and inviting – just like the city at Christmastime – with hints of apple and egg nog.

These may be seasonal scents, but they’re not seasonally sold on Demeter’s website. You can smell like Christmas any time of year! These would make excellent gifts for fragrance lovers on your list.  These scents are also available as home fragrances so your home can smell like Christmas, too!

As always, look for special discounts on Demeter’s home page before checking out.  They often have special promotions for free fragrances and more!
