I know it’s not even officially fall yet, but this weather has made me so anxious for all things of the season! I’ve been buying a few Halloween decorations for the outside of our house. While I tried to patiently wait for the official start of fall, I couldn’t help myself. Yesterday I decorated.

I spent the afternoon with my sisters. We went to Panera Bread for lunch where I had a delicious soup and half a sandwich, and I got a free pumpkin muffin with my Panera rewards that I enjoyed this morning for breakfast. Once lunch was finished, I took one sister to an interview at Pier 1 while the other went to work.
While I was waiting for the interview to finish, I browsed Pier 1. I bought a Halloween garden flag and a notepad. I keep teasing my sister that she better get the job because I’ll need her discount! In all seriousness, I really hope she lands the job. When the interview finished, we ran to the grocery store so I could stock up on tissues (hello, fall allergies). Then we went to the craft store.
My sister waited on line to get an application and I found two Halloween lawn decorations for 40% off and Halloween stickers for 25% off. The elderly woman in front of my sister was talking to the cashier. When she left, my sister called me over to tell me that the woman was 98 years old (she didn’t look it!) and told the cashier her secret to staying young was three things: sex, onions and lots of makeup! Love her!
We left the craft store and went to a few other stores. I bought a new measuring cup, list pads and a Halloween tablecloth at HomeGoods. I dropped my sister off after a quick stop for a spray bottle and went home.
I couldn’t wait to get outside and start decorating! I started by hanging my Halloween candy corn wreath on the front door and decorated the little rocky area next to our front steps (there’s even more out there now). Then I went back inside and put my new tablecloth on the dining room table. I took my Halloween box down from the attic and decorated the house. One of my favorite things about having a home is getting to decorate it for each holiday. Mike even admired my handy work when he came home last night and helped me fix one of my trick-or-treat signs.
On that note, I’m off to finish cleaning. I’ve been nonstop since this morning! Today is my only free day to get housework done until Sunday so I’m taking full advantage of it!
