How to Get Your Spring Cleaning Done on a Budget

About a month ago, I decided that I was going to attempt to create a minimalist lifestyle in our home.  The holidays had just ended and the house felt beyond cluttered by decorations.  As I packed everything away in the attic for another year, I realized how ready I was to clean up our house.  Like really clean it up!  So far, my journey into minimalism hasn’t been too difficult! 

Since I decided to take on this task, I’ve managed to revision the way I want our home to look.  Our house is small and less has definitely become more.  I did my first overhaul in the attic and got rid of a bunch of things that no longer serve a purpose in our home.  I’m sure there is still a lot more I can get rid of in our attic, but now I’m gearing up for a major Spring Cleaning session!

I think I’m looking forward to Spring Cleaning more than usual this year.  2018 is becoming a pretty big year for our house.  Besides decluttering, my husband and I are planning to make a bunch of home updates starting in the spring.  There’s a lot of “out with the old and in with the new” that’s going to happen, like repainting and replacing some of our old (like really old) furniture.  So I want to make sure that our house is spotless before we paint and bring in any new furniture!

Even though we’ll be shelling out some dough for these home improvements, I’ve learned that minimalism can be quite the money saver in the long run!  So I’m Spring Cleaning on a budget this year!  You don’t have to spend a ton on cleaning supplies to get your house into shape.  Also, certain cleaning supplies don’t have to be limited to one room.  You can definitely make them stretch throughout the house!

With Spring Cleaning fresh on my mind, I went to Dollar General a few weeks ago and stocked up on essentials.  I purchased Clorox® Clean-up® Cleaner with Bleach, Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes, Pine-Sol®, Sparkle® Paper Towels, and STAINMASTER® Carpet Pet Stain Remover.
