Get ready to serve up some quick, easy, and fun-to-eat food, game day fans! Those big game celebrations are all about delicious, finger food! Okay, it might be about the football, too. But for me, it’s always about the food!

In my family, we seem to put an Italian spin on the food we serve during get-togethers. Coming from a big, Italian family, it would be odd if there wasn’t! So for game day this year, I decided to take inspiration from one of my favorite Italian entrees and turn it into fun finger food!



Chicken Parmesan is one of my favorite Italian dishes. It’s flavorful, comforting, and easy to make at home. It’s even easier to turn into finger food using Tyson® Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken and Tyson®​ ​ Crispy Chicken Strips! Since we’re gearing up for the big game, I stocked up on Tyson® products at Target and made some Chicken Parmesan Poppers and Chicken Parmesan Sliders.

How to Make Chicken Parmesan Poppers

 
The Chicken Parmesan Poppers are fun little bites to eat that start with Tyson® Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken. Tyson® Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken is never raised with antibiotics and it’s full of crave-worthy flavor!

Bake the chicken in the oven until it’s hot and crispy. Then, spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken and add a small slice of mozzarella cheese on top.


Pop the chicken in the oven again until the cheese has melted. Then, insert toothpicks for easy serving! Serve with a side of marinara sauce and a sprinkle of fresh, chopped parsley for an easy game day appetizer!

How to Make Chicken Parmesan Sliders

 
If you’re looking for a tasty sandwich to make for game day, use Tyson​® Crispy Chicken Strips to make easy Chicken Parm Sliders! Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips are made with 100% all-natural ingredients like white meat chicken.


Bake the chicken strips in the oven and set aside. Then, toast slider buns in the oven. When the buns are toasted, place chicken strips onto the bottom half of the buns. Top with marinara and mozzarella cheese. Put the other half of the buns on top, brush with garlic butter, and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese. Bake the sliders just until the cheese is melted and serve!

Easy Chicken Parmesan Poppers and Sliders – Game Day Appetizers

Ingredients

    To make the Chicken Parmesan Poppers:
  • Tyson® Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken
  • Marinara sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese slices
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
    • To make the Chicken Parmesan Sliders:
  • 1/2 package Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips
  • 15 oz. can tomato or marinara sauce
  • 1 package slider buns
  • 4 mozzarella cheese slices
  • 3 tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. garlic and herb seasoning
  • 2 tsp. shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

    To make the Chicken Parmesan Sliders:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Bake Tyson® Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken on a baking sheet for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven and spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken.
  4. Using a pizza cutter, cut the mozzarella cheese slices into four smaller squares. Then, place a piece of mozzarella on top of each piece of chicken.
  5. Place the chicken back into the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  6. Remove from oven and stick a toothpick into each Chicken Parmesan Popper.
  7. Serve with extra marinara and chopped parsley, if desired.
    8. To make the Chicken Parmesan Sliders:
  8. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  9. Add Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips to a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven.
  10. Cut the slider buns in half and place each half, cut-side-up, on a baking sheet. Place the buns in the oven and toast for about 5 minutes.
  11. Remove buns from heat and place the chicken strips on the bottom half of the buns.
  12. Spoon sauce over the chicken strips.
  13. Top the chicken with cheese and cover with the other half of the slider buns.
  14. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and garlic seasoning together. Brush the top of the buns with the butter mixture.
  15. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese on top and place back in the oven for about 3 minutes, or until the cheese begins to melt and turn golden brown.
  16. Remove the sliders from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
  17. Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

It’s almost time for my husband to get back to his Friday night bowling league. That means our weekly, Friday pizza night goes from being grilled outdoors to being made indoors, in the oven.  I love my husband’s grilled pizza, but there’s so much cleanup afterwards! We legit have a table outside to prepare our grilled meals on.  On Friday nights in the summer, it becomes our pizza station.  It gets covered with pizza pans, flour, oil, sauce, cheese, toppings, and everything in between.  Pizza is better on the grill, but I don’t miss the cleanup when we cook it inside again!

I’m all about “one pan and done” cooking.  We usually make our pizza in a pan, like a Sicilian pie, but I decided to change things up recently.  I’ve cooked our pizza in a cast iron skillet before.  I kept seeing recipes for pizza fries, so I decided to make a pizza and potato dish in a cast iron skillet.  Pizza and potatoes are basically two foods that I cannot live without. I mean, pizza is pizza. You can’t go wrong with sauce, cheese, and toppings and potatoes are just so darn versatile!  You can do so much with a potato!  It just seemed kind of genius to put both foods together!


These Loaded Veggie Pizza Potato Puffs are the ultimate appetizer, snack, or meal! They’re made in a small, 6.5 inch cast iron skillet and topped with bell peppers, onions, and black olives. Veggie pizza is one of my favorites to order when we takeout.  The chopped veggies and olives, along with the sauce and cheese, makes the flavor of this potato puffs pizza come pretty close to one of my favorite slices!

Loaded Veggie Pizza Potato Puffs

Ingredients

  • Approx. 1/2 - 28oz. bag potato puffs
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1-2 tbsp. each green bell pepper, sliced black olives, sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 420 degrees.
  2. Grease two 6.5 inch cast iron skillets with olive oil. Spread potato puffs evenly onto the bottom of each skillet. Bake potatoes for 20 minutes. 
  3. Remove from oven and spread sauce evenly onto each skillet.
  4. Top with cheese, peppers, olives, and onions.
  5. Place skillets back into the oven for another 10 minutes, or just until the cheese starts to boil. Serve with grated Parmesan, if desired, and enjoy!

I absolutely love this version of pizza. Sure, you can’t exactly lift it like a slice and bite into it. I actually found that it’s easier to enjoy with a fork, but go ahead!
