Trader Joe’s Inspired Black Fig and Balsamic Sorrento Salad

September 5, 2013

I usually stay away from the sample station at Trader Joe’s.  It always smells so good over there and I don’t want to be teased by a nibble of whatever they’re sharing that day.  I figured it couldn’t hurt to sample salad during one of my last trips to TJ’s.  Wrong!  I couldn’t get the black fig and Sorrento Salad concoction out of my brain!  I went back for the ingredients to make salads during the week for lunch.  I have to say, I did pretty good in comparison to the salad served at the sample station!

Trader Joe’s Inspired Black Fig and Balsamic Sorrento Salad

– 1 bag of Sorrento Salad
– 6 black figs, stems removed and quartered
– 2 small-medium tomatoes, cut into chunks
– 4-5 slices of Trader Joe’s Magically Sliced Fresh Mozzarella, cut into chunks (or small mozzarella bocconcini, whole or halved)
– Balsamic vinegar
– Fresh ground pepper, for seasoning

In a large salad bowl, empty bag of Sorrento Salad.  Top with figs, tomatoes and cheese.  Dress with balsamic vinegar and season with fresh ground pepper.  Salad is great on its own or as a side dish with meals.

Enjoy!
