Show your front door some love with this Simple Valentine’s Day Floral Wreath! It’s pretty in pink and an easy way to dress up your door for Valentine’s Day!
The weather in New Jersey has been crazy lately! It’s been in frigid single digits, way back up to 60 degrees, back to normal temperatures, and it’s been a roller coaster of weather ever since. Because of this, I ended up with a week-long cold and completely bored off of my ass. So I placed a ship-to-store order for Michaels when I started feeling better. A little craft time always makes me feel better! I figured that I could get in and out of Michaels without distraction.
I was wrong.
First of all, I’m not a big fan of the ship-to-store option, in general. I like choosing my own items to bring home with me (that’s at the craft store, grocery store, etc.). But I did it for the discount I was getting. Forty percent off every single item in my cart was a deal! So I went to Michaels the next day to pick up my order.
Two items were canceled from my order. The woman at the pick-up counter told me that she couldn’t find the items I wanted in the store since the floral section was currently divided into seasonal and everyday items. Then she said, “But maybe you could find them.” So why did I even do the ship-to-store option if I’d end up shopping for myself anyway? Not a big deal because I ended up finding some really pretty spring florals to use in my wreath!
Red is the signature color of Valentine’s Day, but I wanted a wreath that was bursting with pink and a touch of vintage inspired romance. What I ended up with is a wreath that I want to show off well into springtime! I’ve made a lot of wreaths this past year, but this might be my favorite!
- 18″ grapevine wreath
- China Dollar leaves, or other greenery
- Pink & red tulip bush
- Peony mix
- Rose bouquet mix
- Galvanized birdhouse pick
- Wire cutters
- Hot glue gun + gluesticks
- Start by positioning the wreath how you would like it to hang on your door.
- Heat a hot glue gun and begin clipping the flowers off the stems with wire cutters.
- Arrange the flowers around the wreath. Start with larger flowers and add the smaller flowers after. Glue into place, leaving enough room to add the birdhouse later.
- Add China Dollar leaves, or other greenery, to fill in empty spaces around the flowers.
- Glue the birdhouse into place, making sure it’s securely in place, and hang!
Previous wreaths I’ve made have been minimal with one side of the wreath left empty. This time around, I wanted to fill the entire wreath with lots of flowers, covering every inch with lots of blooms and color.
This wreath is pretty pink making it perfect for Valentine’s Day and to make that transition from winter into spring. Even if you’re not a fan of Valentine’s Day, you can still show your front door a little love with a gorgeous floral wreath!
