We recently threw a joint birthday party for my mom, dad, and older brother.  My brother’s birthday is at the end of March and my parents’ birthday are back-to-back at the beginning of April.  It was a great birthday celebration!  We celebrated at my parents’ house and were expecting everyone to arrive sometime around lunch.  I got there early in the morning to help set up decorations and do any last minute running around that needed to happen.

Instead of just a pile of presents gesturing a birthday celebration, I decided to decorate my parents’ house with party decor from Minted to really make the celebration pop!  I had ordered the Botanical Affair design party decor because it was playful, colorful, and a perfect floral design for spring.  The first decoration that I put up was a Personalized Party Sign on the door.  It looked great in the window of my parents’ front door!

My sister was home to help me set up food and decorations.  She was even a big help on this post, as well, which was a lot of fun! And even though my dad was part of the celebration spotlight, he got involved, too! They helped me with the table setting, preparing some of the food, and taking blog photos, as well.  It’s always fun to get my family involved in recipes and posts!

The next thing we set up was the dining room table.  I put utensils and some party straws into mason jars.  The mason jars not only made for great storage, but looked charming set up on the table, too.  The black and white party straws were wrapped with flag stickers for an extra special touch.

My mother had a beige colored table cloth on the dining room table. It worked well with the Fiesta Table Runner that I put down. It’s not part of the Botanical Affair collection, but colors and floral design were a near perfect match!  Then, I threw down some fun table confetti to finish it off.

Next came the food.  I set up a milk glass cake plate with a doily and a Pineapple Angel Food Cake that I made. Since I had a slight mason jar theme going on, I made Apple Pie Cheesecake Jars, too.  They were an easy grab and go dessert for those who wanted to mingle.

I didn’t get to use the bunting banner I had planned on hanging, but I have it for our next gathering.  And believe me, we have plenty of those coming up through the summer!  I also didn’t get to use a gorgeous apothecary jar I have as it was much too big for our already filled table. However, it’s made a beautiful decor piece in my home filled with speckled eggs for Easter!

All in all, it was a great day of celebrating birthdays with family!  Especially those family members we don’t get to see often.  There’s always a ton of food, laughter, and fun when my family gets together!  Minted made the day a little more special for us with its fabulous party decor!
